Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve the reflecting characteristics and oxidation resistance of a reflecting material at high temp. by using an Mo-Ru alloy as the material.

CONSTITUTION: An alloy consisting of 5W75wt% Ru and the balance Mo is adopted as the material of a laser light reflecting plate for a laser scalpel, etc. The preferred Ru content of the alloy is 33W44wt%, and the especially preferred Ru content is 38.7wt%. The alloy is manufactured by molding a mixture of Ru powder with Mo powder and carrying out sintering, arc melting or electron beam melting, forging at a high temp. and cutting.
