Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow the same pin chuck table to hold various kinds of plate-like work-pieces.SOLUTION: The lathe turning method using a turning tool comprises: a resin application step for applying gel-like resin 3, along an outer periphery of a plate-like work-piece 1, to a plurality of pins 22 of a pin chuck table 20; a resin curing step for curing the resin 3 to form a resin frame 3a; a holding surface forming step for forming a holding surface 200 by lathe-turning tips 22a of the pins 22 and an upper surface of the resin frame 3a so that the tips and the frame become the same height, using turning means 30; a work holding step for making the pin chuck table 20 to hold the plate-like work-piece 1; and a lathe-turning step for lathe-turning the work-piece 1 by revolving a turning tool 361, which can form a holding surface corresponding to a size and a shape of a plate-like work-piece on the pin chuck table 20. This allows one pin chuck table 20 alone to suction and hold a various kinds of plate-like work-pieces, so that the pin chuck table needs not be replaced and therefore a work efficiency is improved.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
