To provide a lens drive device in which satisfactory operation of a lens holding frame in the direction of an optical axis is assured by a simple configuration and downsizing is realized.

The lens drive device includes: the lens holding frame 22 for holding a lens group 21; a lead screw 29 disposed in the direction of an optical axis O2; a nut member 33 spirally engaged with the lead screw and moved parallel to the optical axis as the lead screw 29 is rotated; a press member 35 pressed so that the lens holding frame and the nut are in contact with each other in the direction of the optical axis; a first rotation regulating part 33a disposed on the nut and used to regulate the rotation of the nut around the shaft of the lead screw; a second rotation regulating member 33b disposed on the nut and used to regulate the rotation of the nut around the shaft of the lead screw; a first engagement part 22d disposed on the lens holding frame and engaged with the first rotation regulating part; and a second engagement part 23g engaged with the second rotation regulating part. The second engagement part is formed longer than the first engagement part in the direction of the shaft of the lead screw. The engagement of the second engagement part with the second rotation regulating part has a predetermined amount of gap between them, in comparison with the engagement of the first engagement part with the first rotation regulating part.
