PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve start performance by enlarging ground contact load of drive wheels, and improve traveling fuel consumption by restraining rolling resistance of wheels to a road.
SOLUTION: For a lift axle device for a front two-axle car, a rotating shaft 11 is provided at an appropriate position of a frame 2 drifted to the rearward of a vehicle from a vertical position of front/rear shafts 6b by a required length. The front end portion is pivotally attached at the rotating shaft, and an idler arm 12 with the front end portion extended to the vertical position of the front/rear shafts 6b is pivotally attached at the rotating shaft. The front end portion of the arm 12 and the front/rear shafts 6b are connected by a lost motion link 13 which can be folded in an upper/lower direction, a lever portion 14 extending downward is integrally provided at the base end portion of the arm 12, the appropriate position of the frame 2 drifted to the rearward of the vehicle from the rotating shaft 11 and a lower end portion of the lever portion 14 are connected with a hydraulic cylinder 15, and the cylinder is operated by working fluid separated from a steering hydraulic source to be guided.
