Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light field microscope capable of forming illumination light having a uniform luminance distribution in an optical axis direction of the objective lens in an area on a specimen used for imaging with simple configuration at a low cost.SOLUTION: A light field microscope 10 includes: an object lens 11 for capturing light from specimen S; and an illumination unit for irradiating a sample S with a beam of illumination light from a direction perpendicular to the optical axis of the object lens 11. The illumination unit includes: a light source 25 that emits illumination light; a multimode fiber 1 that guides the beam of illumination light from the light source 25 and outputs the same from an exit end face; and an illumination optical system 18 that projects an image on an exit end face 1a on the optical axis of the object lens 11. The illumination unit applies the beam of the illumination light so that the illumination light has a constant thickness in an optical axial direction of the object lens 11 on a projection plane on which an image is projected by the illumination optical system 18.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
