Abstract:
To provide a low cost lightning potential rise suppressor which can suppress the ground potential of a building by reducing the lightning surge current by a simple configuration consisting of a small number of components, and can prevent damage on the ground electrode.
In a building 201 where a lightning rod 301 is connected with a ground electrode 303 via a down conductor 302, the lightning potential rise suppressor includes a discharge gap 305 interposed between the lightning rod 301 and the down conductor 302, and a coil 306 for current suppression placed in the path of lightning surge current leading from the discharge gap 305 to the ground electrode 303 via the down conductor 302.
