Abstract:
PURPOSE:To attain precision manufacture of a roller screw mechanism at a lower cost by forming a stationary female-thread member by forming partial helical grooves in the axial direction on the concave surface of a shell having an arcuate cross section smaller than a semicircle and by making a male-thread member having a protruding helical thread engage with the partial helical grooves. CONSTITUTION:The central part of a relatively long female-thread member 1 of a fixed diameter is provided with intermittently formed thread grooves 3 along a standard helical line T. The central part has a cross section of an arc of a circle small than the semicircle and an opening side larger than the semicircle. The pitch of the standard helical line T is a fixed pitch. At each end of the helical grooves 3, there is provided an entrance 7 or an exit 8 on the wing 6 for receiving the protruding thread of a male-thread member 12. A plurality of rollers 16 are provided for the male-thread member 12 on the outer surface thereof along the same standard helical line T by means of ball bearings 18 and 19 so as to be able to turn about the respective radial axes Z or a cylindrical member 15.
