Abstract:

To prevent the occurrence of display unevenness and display defect by the flocculation of glass-based granular spacers.

This liquid crystal display device is formed by dispersing the glass-based granular spacers 14 onto one substrate 11, then sticking the substrates facing each other and forming a gap between the substrates. The glass-based granular spacers having a flow property of ≥80% are used when this flow property is defined as the weight ratio of the samples past a #330 mesh after 1 to 5g samples are placed on the #330 mesh and the mesh is vibrated for 120 seconds vertically at amplitude of 1mm. The glass-based granular spacers 14 are dispersed onto the substrate 11 by ejecting air 13 or inert gas.
