To provide a liquid crystal display device capable of forming an empty space enabling a reproducing unit or the like to mount in an upper end part of a rear surface of this liquid crystal display device (LCD) by turning the direction of installation of the LCD upside down and displaying by inverting the liquid crystal display device in the vertical direction without adding a new printed wiring board.

In this liquid crystal display device, signal lines CL, RL, and SL are formed in each of COF gd1, gd2, ..., gdm and are connected with a controller 4. The signal line CL is a line for transmitting a clock signal CPV for gate. The signal line RL is a line for connecting the controller 4 with a gate driver GDm directly to transmit a start pulse signal STV to the gate driver GDm directly. The signal line SL is a line for transmitting the start pulse signal input into the gate driver GDm in the direction of a gate driver GD1 from the gate driver GDm.
