Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display that has a fast off-response speed, has a small amount of monomer remaining in a liquid crystal layer, and has high transmissivity, and a polymerizable liquid crystal composition suitable for the same.SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display, a liquid crystal layer 5 containing a polymer network (A) and a liquid crystal composition (B) is held between two substrates, at least one of which includes an electrode and at least one of which has transparency; the polymer network (A) is a polymer of a (meth)acrylate component (a) having a mesogen structure in a molecular structure; the molar ratio of an acryloyl group to a methacryloyl group (acryloyl group/methacryloyl group) in the (meth)acrylate component is 1.5/8.5 to 8.5/1.5.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
