Abstract:

To obtain a finishing agent capable of improving an adhesion characteristic by imparting it to a liquid crystalline polymer monofilament by forming a hindered polyester in reacting pentaerythritol with a specific carboxylic acid.

This liquid crystalline polymer monofilament having an improved adhesion characteristics is imparted with a finishing agent prepared by containing ≥60% content selected from a group of esters obtained by reacting pentaerythritol or a polyhydric alcohol having up to 10 carbon number and 2-6 hydroxyl group, e.g. sorbitol with a carboxylic acid expressed by the formula: CxH2x-1COOH, e.g. tetrapelargonic acid pentaerythritol, tetraisostearic acid pentaerythritol, etc., in 0.1-5.0 wt.%, preferably 0.3-3.0 wt.% based on the liquid crystalline polymer monofilament fiber.
