To provide a liquid metal relay capable of preventing the generation of arc upon opening between contact points.
The liquid metal relay includes: a first fixed contact point 1 including fixed contact points 1a and 1b made of solid metal and having two different resistances; a second fixed contact point 2 provided with fixed contact points 2a and 2b formed of solid metal and having two different resistances; a movable contact point 3 made of liquid metal to be connected/disconnected to/from the fixed contact points 1 and 2; and a driving element 4 that moves the movable point 3 freely to and from between the position at which the movable point 3 comes in contact and electrically connected with both of the fixed contact portions 1 and 2 and the position at which the movable point 3 comes out of contact from both of the fixed contact portions 1 and 2. Fixed contact points 1a, 1b, 2a, and 2b are arranged such that they come out of contact from the movable contact point 3 in the ascending order of the values of resistance when opening the contact between the fixed contact point portions 1 and 2.
