Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prolong a duration of supplying liquid pressure from a supplementary pump which is used when a liquid pressure source tails, by forming an annular groove between a power piston and a spool so that any liquid which leaks out toward the defects may be returned into a non-pressurized chamber. CONSTITUTION:If a hydraulic system, namely, a liquid pressure source for power steering tails, a supplementary pump 21 is driven to compress the liquid inside a non-pressurized chamber 9. The compressed liquid is fed into a boosting chamber 7 of a power piston 2. Meantime, by stepping on a brake pedal, a spool 3 is moved leftward to throttle a flow passage between a port 17 and a drain port, so that the pressure of said liquid in the boosting chamber 7 may be further raised. Out of the liquid which leaks from a boosting chamber 7 into a pump port 13 and a throttle port 15 via the spool 3 and the piston 2, some liquid going from the port 17 into the port 13 flows from an annular groove 30 between port 13 and the port 16 into a non-pressurized chamber 9, and another liquid which leaks from a balance chamber 20 travels from an annular groove 32 between the chamber 20 and the throttle port 15 into the non-pressurized chamber 9.
