Abstract:
To provide a rotor assembly that reduces cogging torque in a permanent magnet motor, thereby reducing potential NVH problems.SOLUTION: An assembly utilizes two layers of magnets within a lamination stack, an inner layer is positioned closer to a rotor and comprised of larger magnets, and an outer layer is positioned closer to an outer lamination stack surface and comprised of smaller magnets.
