Abstract:

PURPOSE: To enable to absorb any impact load even in the rear of a car body by displacing a member to touch on a rear end of a power plant frame and rotating a differential when this frame is retracted following a vehicle collision.

CONSTITUTION: An engine transmission unit (illustration omitted) and a differential 8 mounted each in front and in the rear of a car body are connected to each other through a power plant frame 16. In this case, a hook member 23 touching on the frame 16 is set up in the rear lower part of a rear floor part 21a. This hook member 23 is made up of a straight part 23a, a joint 23b and a hook part 23c, and this hook part 23c is engaged with a rear end 16d of the frame 16. With this constitution, when the frame 16 is moved in the rear because of a car collision, any movement of the rear end 16d is prevented by the hook part 23c, bending a flection part 16e largely, thus the differential 8 is rotated crosswise.
