Abstract:

To sufficiently lubricate portions to be lubricated while preventing the high temperature of oil for lubricating the portions to be lubricated.

This lubricating device 22 for a four cycle engine 10 comprises an oil pump 26 for supplying oil 18 to the portions to be lubricated through an oil passage 25, a relief valve 30 for draining part of the oil 18 in the oil passage 25 as escape oil 29 to keep the pressure of the oil 18 in the oil passage 25 at a preset value or less, and an oil cooler 31 for cooling the oil 18. The escape oil 29 is cooled by the oil cooler 31 and then returned to the suction side of the oil pump 26.
