PURPOSE: To improve productivity by providing a first saddle movable right and left, or up and down on the front face of a column standingly provided on a bed, providing a second saddle movable in the direction meeting at right angles with the moving direction of the first saddle and mounted with a headstock, and thus constituting time machine tool.

CONSTITUTION: A first saddle 13 is moved right and left with a motor 16. A second saddle 21 is moved up and down with a motor 23. A spindle head 31 is moved in the before and behind direction with a motor 32, and a main spindle is rotated with a motor internally provided in the spindle head 31. In this constitution, the spindle head 31 is positioned with the first and second saddles 13, 21, and advanced or retreated with the motor 32 to perform cutting work. Cutting resistance at this time is borne with upper and lower guide rails 30, right and left guide rails 20 for the second saddle 21, and upper and lower guide rails 12 for the first saddle 13, so as to prevent generation of moment due to cutting resistance.
