PURPOSE: To make uniform the magnetic flux density distribution of a conductive fluid and to improve generation efficiency by providing an auxiliary permanent magnet on the side surface of a main permanent magnet and by forming a magnetic pole on the side in contact with the main permanent magnet at the same pole of the magnetic pole of the side surface of the main permanent magnet.
CONSTITUTION: A pair of main permanent magnets 5 for generation main magnetic field are provided so that different poles oppose while holding the channel for a conductive fluid in-between on the inner-periphery surface of a yoke 1 formed so that two sets parallel sides exist on a cross section and an auxiliary permanent magnet 6 formed in a plane shape and magnetized in thickness direction is formed so that it is in close contact with each surface between the inner-periphery surface of the other yoke 2 crossing the yoke 1 where the main permanent magnet 5 is provided and the side surface of the main permanent magnet 5. Then, one edge part of the auxiliary permanent magnet 6 protrudes at the channel 4 side of the conductive fluid from the magnetic pole end face of the permanent magnet 5 and the magnetic pole on the side in contact with the main permanent magnet 5 of the auxiliary permanent magnet 5 is formed at the same pole as the magnetic pole of the end face of the main permanent magnet 5, thus making uniform the magnetic density distribution in the channel 4 and increasing generation efficiency.
