Title:
MAGNETIC RESONANCE IMAGING
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH03231633
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a better quality of picture by a method wherein a 90° pulse is applied as RF pulse and a 180° pulse is applied only for an application period twice as much as the 90° pulse after a specified time interval to make a shape of the 180° pulse similar to the 90° pulse.

CONSTITUTION: A 90° pulse overlapping an inclined magnetic field in a uniform magnetrostatic field in which an object to the inspected is arranged and as RF pulse for setting an exciting rotary magnetic field and a 180° pulse which is applied by a time length twice as much as the 90° pulse at a specified time interval after the application of the 90° pulse to generate a magnetic resonance phenomenon. At this point, as the 90° pulse and the 180° pulse are the same in amplitude, there is no adverse effect on the amplitude otherwise caused by incompleteness (non-linearity) of an RF transmission system and because of the very limited effect as caused by the incompleteness of the RF transmission system, the application time of the RF pulse is 1:2 interms of RF value between the 90° pulse and the 180° pulse while the 90° pulse and the 180° pulse are similar in shape, thereby enabling the production of an image with a better quality of picture.
