PURPOSE: To make the working fluid of the power generating section effectively flow in the flowing path direction by giving the flowing velocity of the turning element in the circumferencial direction to the working fluid with an electromagnetic driving force to cancel the turning element in the circumferencial direction with an electromagnetic driving force working in the power generating section.
CONSTITUTION: The working fluid 1 introduced into an MHD generator 5 from a hot duct 4 is accelerated at a flowing path inlet 9a of the flowing path 9 formed by the disc type side walls 10a, 10b and enters the supersonic condition at a throat section 9b. In this case, the working fluid 1 is given a turning velocity in the positive direction with an electromagnetic driving force of an external magnetic field application apparatus 11b in the upstream side of the throat section 9b and the working fluid 1 having reached the MHD channel 9c cancels a turning velocity element in the negative direction caused by an electromagnetic driving force of an external magnetic field application apparatus 11a. Thereby the swirling in the MHD generator 5 is controlled, the induced Hall voltage can be raised and highly efficient power generation can be realized.
