Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a maltooligosaccharide derivative useful as a synthetic intermediate for a ketobutylidene-chloro-nitrophenyl-β-maltopentaoside of a reagent for measuring an α-amylase activity.
CONSTITUTION: A maltooligosaccharide derivative shown by formula I (R2 is lower alkyl; (n) is 0-8) such as 3-ketobutylidene. The compound, for example, is obtained by reacting a compound shown by formula II with a compound shown by formula III (R2 is lower alkyl) in a nonreactive solvent such as DMF in the presence of a catalyst such as sulfuric acid at 40-100°C or reacting the compound shown by formula II with a compound shown by formula IV in the nonreactive solvent such as DMF at -20°C to room temperature.
