Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prepare quite simply an aromatic polyamide film excellent in mechanical strength including tensile strength and tensile modulus with the number of steps reducible and without requiring acid resistant facilities.
CONSTITUTION: This method for manufacturing an aromatic polyamide film excellent in transparency comprises the following steps [1] to [5]. [1] A step of preparing a dope having an optically isotropic phase wherein an aromatic polyamide is dissolved in a polar amide. [2] A step of mixing the dope with an isocyanate compound. [3] A step of forming the dope having the isocyanate compound mixed therewith into a membrane. [4] A step of immersing the dope in the form of a membrane into a polar solvent to solidify it into a film. [5] A step of drying the film.
