PURPOSE: To make it possible to obtain pellicle-free bamboo fibers by a method wherein coarse crushed material, which is prepared by coarsely crushing bamboo to the direction of growth with a rolling device, is fiberized with a hammer mill type crusher and pellicle parts mixed in obtained bamboo fibers are separated.
CONSTITUTION: Cut bamboo, from which blades are removed, is coarsely crushed by being passed through a rolling device. The coarsely crushed bamboo is fiberized with a hammer mill type crusher. The pellicle parts inside bamboo mixed in the obtained bamboo fibers are separated. The mechanical separating method is to scatter bamboo fibers, which are fed from a chute 3 through a feed conveyer 4 to a pair of feed rolls 5, through a large number of triangular teeth provided on a rotary drum 2 onto a conveyer 7. Since the conveyer 7 is arranged only to the neighborhood of the center of the rotary drum 2, the pellicle parts mainly fall on this side of the conveyer 7, resulting in collecting the pellicle parts with blades 6 in a pellicle collecting tank 8. Further, as the separating method by immersing in water, the pellicle part floats when the obtained bamboo fibers are immersed in water, resulting in allowing to easily separate the pellicle part from the bamboo fiber.
