PURPOSE: To obtain a Cu alloy member having superior tension, electric conductivity and heat conductivity by subjecting a Cu alloy contg. specified amounts of Co and a rare earth element to soln. heat treatment in a magnetic field and working such as rolling.
CONSTITUTION: A Cu alloy ingot contg. 0.3W10wt% Co and 0.03W1wt% rare earth element such as Y, Sm or Pr or misch metal is cast. The ingot is subjected to soln. heat treatment in a furnace at about 450W650°C for 35W45hr. During this treatment, the interior of the furnace is kept at 500W600°C for 6W8hr, and a magnetic field of 1,000W3,000Oe is applied. The alloy is then hot rolled and cold rolled to manufacture a Cu alloy member having superior tension, electric conductivity and heat conductivity and suitable for IC, LSI or a wire electrode.
