To provide a method for manufacturing hollow imitation wood capable of molding a hollow part of the wood substantially at the same concentric position as an axial center of the wood and without molding an unnecessary lateral hole or the like.
The method for manufacturing a hollow imitation wood comprises a step of disposing mandrel 28 along a longitudinal direction in a cavity 25 of a mold 6 having a lengthwise cavity 25 formed to mold the wood, a step of detachably mounting the other end of a mandrel end supporter 106 for one end to be capable of being brought into contact with an inner periphery of the cavity of the mold 6 from the mandrel 28, a step of closing the mold 6, a step of casting molten resin in the cavity 25 of the mold 6, and a step of retaining the supporter 106 in the mold 6 before or after completely curing the resin after filling the resin in the mold 6 and drawing the mandrel 28 along the lengthwise direction of the cavity 25.
