Title:
MANUFACTURE OF INTERSECTING ELEMENT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6191498
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To eliminate generation of cracks, prevent leakage of fluid and reduce manufacturing man hours by a method wherein the element is formed by extrusion so that an extruded section obtains comb-teeth like configuration or multi-hole configuration in which polygonal holes re arrayed in one row.

CONSTITUTION: Porcelain material is pulverized, mixed and spread, thereafter, is extruded by an extruder so that the extruded section obtains comb-teeth configuration of multi-hole configuration in which the polygonal holes are arrayed in one row. The element is formed by extrusion so as to arrange the comb-teeth like grooves or polygonal holes in parallel to the extruding direction thereof. The extruded form is dried at 30W120°C for 6hr in the same manner as the manufacturing of normal porcelains and, subsequently, is calcined at 900W1700°C to obtain a primary calcined product. During these processed, the base of the element is contracted. Thereafter, the calcined products are connected by the composition of glazing so that openings, neighboring in up-and-down direction and opened by extrusion, are intersected mutually with a given angle, then, they are calcined at 500W1700°C again to obtain the intersecting elements. A low temperature inflating material, such as cordierite or spodumene, for example, or the material such as alumina, silicon carbide or the like are used in accordance with the purpose of the element to manufacture the element excellent in resistance to heat, resistance to abrasion or high heat conductivity in accordance with the usage thereof.
