Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prevent a superconducting filament from being separated and deteriorated due to a thermal shrinkage difference even if it is cooled to cryogenic temperature by producing the filament by heat treating a wire material after drawing, axially cutting it to remove it in a ring shape as a Josephson device. CONSTITUTION:A wire material which contains constituent element of an intermetallic compound exhibiting superconductivity is disposed, and bundled as a composite wire 1. In this case, an engaging segment of the wire material or a strand containing the element is so disposed that a superconducting filament 6 made of the compound by heat treatment is produced through a barrier layer 7 from a normal conductive metal layer between the filaments. Then, the wire 1 is drawn until the thickness of the barrier layer between the filaments produced by the heat treatment becomes the value exhibiting Josephson effect. Thereafter, it is heat treated to produce the filament 6, then laterally cut, removed in a ring shape, and electrode leads are attached thereto as a Josephson device.
