Title:
MANUFACTURE OF LENS ATOP OPTICAL FIBER END PART
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH03144511
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain an inexpensive optical fiber array which has high productivity and can form a sharp image by manufacturing a lens atop an optical fiber by using photosetting resin. CONSTITUTION:One end 51a of an optical fiber 51 is dipped in unset photosetting resin 6 and the optical fiber 51 is irradiated with light from the other end to set the photosetting resin 6 nearby one end 51a of the optical fiber 51 following the intensity distribution of light projected from one end 51a, thereby forming the lens at one end 51a of the optical fiber 51. Consequently, the lens is formed more easily and speedily than a conventional polishing method and the output image becomes extremely sharp.
