Abstract:

To provide a method for manufacturing an optical information recording medium disc with a low bit error rate by optimizing a step to manufacture the medium disc using a substrate of a cyclic olefin resin.

A specified part of the surface of a substrate of a cyclic olefin resin is subjected to a corona discharge process prior to the formation of a recording coat layer. The durability of information is influenced by not only the adhesion between the substrate and a ultraviolet-curable resin coat layer but also the adhesion between the substrate and the recording coat layer or the adhesion between the recording coat layer and the ultraviolet-curable resin coat layer. To improve the durability, the corona discharge process is performed to the surface of the substrate. Thus it is possible to manufacture the optical information recording medium disc with a low bit error rate.
