Abstract:

PURPOSE: To contrive to improve the fluidity of IMC paint by retarding the hardening of the part, which is more apart from the injecting part of the IMC paint, of SMC material by a method wherein the SMC material is placed on a bottom force by sinking a plurality of ejector pins, by which the SMC material is supported, one after another starting from the pin locating near the injection part of the IMC paint to the pin locating far from said injection part.

CONSTITUTION: SMC material 2 is placed on the tips, which are projected by about 50mm from the top surface 1a of a bottom force 1, of ejector pins E1-E3. During the lowering of a top force 3, when the distance between the under surface 3a and the top surface 1a becomes 150mm, leveling cylinders 7 and a press slide 10 come into contact with each other. Since this time, the pin E1, which locates near to an IMC injector 4, is lowered at the speed, which is equal to the lowering speed of the cylinders 7. The pin E2, which is the middle one among the pins E1-E3, is lowered at the same speed as just mentioned above since the time, when said distance becomes 100mm. The pin E3, which locates far from the IMC injector 4, is lowered at the same lowering speed of the cylinders 7 since the time, when said distance becomes 70mm. When the tips of E1-E3 become flush with the top surface 1a, forces are closed so as to hold the SMC material 2 under pressure for the predetermined period of time in order to harden the SMC material primarily. After the finish of hardening, IMC paint is injected from the injector 4. Both the SMC material and the IMC paint are completely hardened by being held under pressurized state.
