Abstract:
PURPOSE: To form a gas diffusing chamber which is indispensable as an oxygen sensor accurately and positively at the same time as the sealing of an element and a cap.
CONSTITUTION: Glass paste 7 is applied on at least either of the outer surface part of an element 1 comprising ion-conductive solid electrolyte on the forming side of one electrode 2a and the outer surface part of the lower surface of a cap 4. Then, the element 1 and the cap 4 are sealed through the glass paste 7. Under the state wherein only the load of the element 1 or the cap 4 itself is applied, the glass paste 7 is baked, and the element 1 and the cap 4 are sealed. At the same time, a gas diffusing chamber 5 is formed between the element 1 and the cap 4.
