Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a superior tape peep window for a magnetic tape cassette without causing cleavage and cracking, by heating and pressing a thermally-plastic and transparent plastic plate by using a metal mold with a scale pattern corresponding to a display scale for the quantity of a remaining tape. CONSTITUTION:Transparent platic plate 13 of polystyrene, etc., cut to a size needed for a peep window is mounted on base plate 15 and display scale 14' for the quantity of a remaining tape is made on plate 13 by using metal mold 12 which has stamp surface 14 with the scale pattern under vertically-movable pressure press plate 11 with an incorporated heater. Since scale 14' is formed of concave grooves, peep window 13 is so mounted that the scale surface will be on the inside of a cassette. In this way, since a jet molding unit is not used, merit can be obtained in terms of cost and process and neither cleavage nor cracking is caused because of a heating pressing method.
