PURPOSE: To obtain a wear-resistant woody stock without impairing woody external appearance by a method wherein a laminated flitch is produced by compression-forming wood chips, to which adhesive which is added and kneaded with wear-resistant agent is applied, and finally the surface of said flitch is smoothly finished.

CONSTITUTION: Adhesive 2, with which wear-resistant agent is added and kneaded, is applied to the surface of wood chips 1. The application of the adhesive 2 to the wood chips 1 is done by kneading or spraying. The wood chips 1 coated with said adhesive 2 is placed in a press tool or the like so as to be compression-formed to the predetermined shape in order to form a laminated flitch 3 through compression forming. A wear-resistant wood based stock 4 is produced by smoothly finishing the surface of the laminated flitch 3 by working such as planing, sawing, sanding, milling or the like.
