To provide a method of forming a film on a surface of a bulb with uniform thickness even if general coating liquid with high viscosity is used.
The light emitting bulb 11 is immersed in the coating liquid filled in a container 20 (figure (b)). The light emitting bulb 11 is drawn out from the coating liquid and the coating liquid is drained (figure (c)). The posture of the light emitting bulb 11 is vertically inverted so that a neck part 11c locates at lower side and the top part 11a locates at upper side while making the bulb rotate around an axis of the bulb as a rotation axis, and the direction of the bulb axis is made to tilt against vertical direction (figure (d), (e)). The light emitting bulb 11 is put into a duct 40 and dried while the bulb axis is made to keep the tilted attitude and the light emitting bulb is made to rotate on its axis.
