To provide a manufacturing method of a multilayer optical information recording medium that can cope with thinning of a recording/reproduction side substrate, and the optical information recording medium.
A translucent stamper having grooves or irregular pits on which a thin film is deposited on a main surface and a second substrate having a thickness of not more than 0.3 mm are joined each other using radiation curing resin with the grooves or irregular pits being disposed inside, and then the radiation curing resin is cured. Then, the stamper is separated, and consequently the grooves or irregular pits are formed on the second substrate. Next, a metal film or a recording film is deposited on the grooves or irregular pits to form a second information recording layer on the second substrate. A first substrate having a first information recording layer and the second substrate having the second information recording layer formed thereon are joined each other with the first and second information recording layers facing each other.
