Abstract:
PURPOSE:To improve bearing performance for outer and inner shafts by installing a seal member for separating from each other, sections of lubricating oil flowing towards the first or the second drain port, between a stern tube and the outer shaft. CONSTITUTION:Lubricating oil fed from a pump 2 and a cooler 3 to an inlet tube 7 for outer shaft lubricating oil lubricates, a supply port 24, a shaft seal device 14a for outer shaft, a bearing 16a for outer shaft and further an external bearing 16 and then discharged from a drain port 25b through an outlet tube 5b. On the other hand, lubricating oil fed to an inlet tube 4 lubricates, through an inner passage 18a of an inner shaft 18 and a passage part 26, a shaft seal device 13a for inner shaft and a bearing 15a for inner shaft and further lubricates, while flowing along the periphery of the inner shaft 18, a bearing 15b for inner shaft and a shaft seal device 13b and next lubricates a shaft seal device 14b for outer shaft along the periphery of an outer shaft 17 and then is discharged from a drain port 25a through an outlet tube 5a. Respective passages for both of these lubricating oil are liquid-tightly sealed from each other by a labyrinth seal 19. In this way bearing performance is sharply improved.
