Abstract:

PURPOSE: To non-destructively measure an adherent force by expressing a correlation between the adherent force obtained by a destructive test and the temperature characteristic value of a film surface in a calibration curve.

CONSTITUTION: Blasting particles 14 are blown against the upper surface of a base material 13a to be roughened and a coating material 16 is thermally sprayed and accumulated by a thermal spray gun 15 to form a film D. A base material 13b to which a blasting processing is applied is adhered to a trial test piece 12 processed as above via an adhesive E, a tensile load F is gradually applied to the test piece 12 and an adherent force is calculated from the load when the film D peels off the base material 13a. Destructive tests are thus executed on a plurality of the trial test pieces with different adherent forces. On the other hand, after heated under a given heating condition, the temperature characteristic values of the film surfaces of the trial test pieces are obtained by an infrared ray image apparatus and a calibration curve indicative of a relationship between the temperature characteristic values and the adherent forces is formed. When, after heated under the same condition, the temperature characteristic value of the film surface of an object to be tested is measured in the same fashion and applied to the calibration curve, the corresponding adherent force can be calculated.
