PURPOSE: To enable the subject melt spinning excellent in productivity by, in melt spinning of a thermoplastic polymer, discharging the polymer through a spinning nozzle and passing the spun fiber in an atmosphere of low- temperature plasma before cooling and coagulation.
CONSTITUTION: In melt spinning of a thermoplastic polymer such as polyethylene terephthalate at ≥8000m/min take-up rate, the above-mentioned polymer is discharged through a spinning nozzle and, before cooling and solidification, passed through in an atmosphere of low-temperature plasma in a non- polymerizable gas such as Ar under vacuum of ≤50torr, preferably 0.01-20torr to enable the objective melt spinning. In addition, the applied voltage of plasma and the treatment length are preferably 200-10000V and 0.1-100cm respectively.
