Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a learning-promoting agent or a mnemonic agent comprising an arylamidoazabicycloalkane and capable of promoting memory of living animals and useful for curing hypomnesia and dysmnesia. CONSTITUTION: This mnemonic agent or dysmnesia-curing agent contains at least one of a compound of formula I [(n<1> ) to (n<4> ) are each 0-3: R<1> to R<4> are each H, a lower alkyl or phenyl; R<5> is H or a lower alkyl: X is O or S; Ar is formula II (Y is H, a lower alkoxy, etc.; (m) is 1-3], its acid-added salt, its hydrate, its alcoholate and its optical isomer. As the compound of the formula I, e.g. 4-amino-N-(1-azabicyclo[2,2,2]oct-3-yl)-5-chloro-2-methoxybenzamide, etc., are cited. The effective dose of the compound of formula I is about 10-1000mg/kg (body weight) for mnemonic promotion, e.g. in case of dysmnesia in aged people.
