Abstract:

To provide a mercaptopyridine-N-oxide compound, enabling the regulation of the solubility of a pyrithion compound in water or an organic solvent and further having a high photolytic property suitable as a photo-functional material.

This mercaptopyridine-N-oxide compound is expressed by general formula (I) [wherein, M1, M2 are each a +1 to +3 valent cationic group where the M1, M2 are each the same or different; (m) is an integer of 1-3; R is a substituent; and (n) is an integer of 0-3].
