Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal surface processing method and metal material processed by the method, which removes unstable foreign matters caused by post-processing from a machined metal surface such as unstable burrs, discharge white layers, segregation of alloy constituents, and smoothens sharp irregularites by filling up micro cracks and small holes as surface defects, and transforms the surface into a metal surface suitable for coating.
SOLUTION: Grindable fine articles 10 to 50 μm in diameter of AL2O3, SiC and the like are mixed with compressed air and blasted against the surface 1 of a subject metal material at a pressure of 0.3 Kgf/cm2 to 3 Kgf/cm2. Next, spherical shaped fine particles 10 to 50 μm in diameter such as glass balls, steel balls, quarts balls or marble balls are mixed with compressed air and blasted against the metal surface 1 at a pressure of 1.0 Kgf/cm2 to 3 Kgf/cm2. Fine particles identical to that used by the first process is mixed with compressed air and blasted against the surface at a pressure of 0.2 Kgf/cm2 to 1.5 Kgf/cm2.
