In this crushing method, a hole is bored in a crushed object R, and fluid 5 is filled up in the hole, and a pair of electrodes 7a, 7b whose mutually separated tips are connected with a metal thin wire 6 is inserted onto the hole bottom, and an electric current I is applied between a pair of electrodes 7a, 7b for a short time to sublimate the metal thin wire 6, and the crushed object R is crushed by a shock wave caused by a sublimation.
