Abstract:

PURPOSE: To enhance the collection accuracy of a gas in molten steel by a method wherein an inert gas is blown to a gas-collection probe which has been immersed in the molten steel so as to form a space at the upper part and the gas composition in the molten steel which is diffused and discharged due to the content of the inert gas with the interface of the molten steel and due to the stirring of the inert gas and the molten steel is sent to a detector.

CONSTITUTION: An iron cap is fitted to the lower end of a gas collection probe 1, and the gas collection probe is immersed in molten steel 2 in a degassing treatment pot 3 by using a raising and lowering device 12 while an inert gas is being blown. When the probe 1 is passed through a slug layer, the iron cap is melted, and the internal pressure of the probe 1 is lowered. This point is judged as the surface of the molten steel 2. In addition, the probe 1 is pushed in by about 200mm. At this time, an inert-gas-supply-flow-rate regulator 11 and a collection-gas-flow-rate regulator 15 are actuated by a gas-collection-chamber-pressure controller 18, and the internal pressure of a gas collection chamber 8 is kept constant. For example, an inert gas is blown into molten steel 2 at 300ml/min, the gas is sent into a gas-component analytical device 18 at about 150ml/min. Thereby, a gas in the molten steel can be analyzed with high accuracy in real time.
