To provide a method and apparatus for drying an electrode material which can improve the quality of a battery.
In the method for drying the electrode material, a metal foil having electrode materials arrayed at intervals is prepared by coating the electrode materials 133 containing a solvent on the metal foil 130. An induction coil 110 for induction-heating the metal foil is faced to the metal foil. The solvent is vaporized from the metal foil by generating heat through induction heating while relatively moving the metal foil and induction coil along a direction for arraying the electrode materials. At that time, an amount of heat generation in a non-coated part 132 which is exposed between the electrode materials, of the metal foil is reduced than an amount of heat generation in a coated part 131 on which the electrode material is arranged, of the metal foil.
