Abstract:
PURPOSE: To transport and feed the cylindrical articles from a jumbled mass into a continuous stream of uniformly spaced articles aligned end-to-end.
CONSTITUTION: This apparatus comprises a bowl feeder 10, a belt conveyor 30, vacuum suction belt conveyors 40, 70, a lugged conveyor 80, vacuum transfer drums 100, 110, an assembly drum 120, a separate assemblies feed hopper 140, and vacuum transfer drums 150, 160 to be transferred to the assembly drum 120. The apparatus further comprises a means for regulating the sorting and transfer of the articles, for synchronizing the transfer of the cylindrical articles and the separate assemblies, and for incorporating the articles into component assemblies.
