When weaving is stopped by a cause except a miss of weft insertion, such as the input of a weaving-stopping signal from a warp yarn breakage-detector 29 or a stop switch, a control computer C stops a loom-driving motor M and the motors M1 and M2 for the leno synchronously. Then the control computer C demands slow normal rotation of a prescribed amount on the motors M1 and M2 for the leno based on the input of an on-signal (weaving-start signal) from a start switch 30. As a result, the motors M1 and M2 for the leno are normally rotated slowly in the prescribed amount so that the selvage yarn may previously compulsorily be formed into the leno by the amount corresponding to one turn of the loom in the normal rotation direction.
