PURPOSE: To uniformly mold an FRP layer as the outside layer of a tank by supplying a mixture of cut glass rovings and a resin compsn. to the outside of an inner shell while reciprocally moving the same in the axial direction of the inner shell to defoam the same and rotating the inner shell.
CONSTITUTION: A steel inner shell is arranged on a pair of rollers 8 in such a state that the gas phase part thereof at the time of use is turned upward. A mirror plate made of FRP of which the surface is roughened at the terminal part of the mirror plate is set to the mirror part of the inner shell so as to cover the mirror part of a tank. Next, the terminal of a release film is attached to a detection layer part at the time of use at the boundary part of the gas phase part and the detection layer part by a self-adhesive tape. In this state, the inner shell is rotated while a traverse stand 3 is traversed and a resin compsn. containing cut glass rovings is laminated to the surface of the inner shell through a defoaming device 7 to be defoamed. Molding is continued and, when the compsn. reaches the boundary of the gas phase part and the detection layer part, the release film is cut along the boundary line to be bonded by the self-adhesive tape and molding is further continued to produce a double shell tank.
