To provide a method for classifying opened fibers, and to provide a classifying device used for the same, capable of avoiding such a useless effort that the fibers which have been finely opened are again entangled and blocked, by classifying the fibers in such a state as immediately after opened into the fibers which are enough opened and the fibers which are not enough opened and then separately discharging each of the opened fibers, and therefore capable of improving working efficiency of classifying the fibers and classification accuracy.
The classifying device is used for classifying the opened fibers according to their opening states, wherein plural discharging openings 20, 26 are arranged in an area into which the opened fibers are discharged in a process where a fibrous raw material is transferred with a transfer means (e.g. a rotary cylinder 12) of an opening machine 10 after opened, so that each of the discharging openings separately receives the opened fibers according to differences of flying distances due to mass differences of the fibers which are flown by the operation of the transfer means after opened.
