Title:
METHOD OF COCOON TREATMENT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5516940
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: Cocoons are treated under an atmosphere containing carbon dioxide, whereby carbonic acid is formed in the cocoons to acidify weakly them this imparting resistance to boiling with no use of H-water.

CONSTITUTION: Carbon dioxide from cylinder 1 and steam from the generator are mixed by mixer 4. After blown once into chamber 12, the mixed gas passes through slits 9, 10 and acts on cocoons to be treated in vessel 13. Carbon dioxide contacts with steam to form carbonic acid solution, which shows weak-acid property. Therefore, cocoons can get the same level of boiling resistance as that given by H-water.
