A drive/stop control method of a stepping motor for a game machine is configured as follows. After the occurrence of a reel stop condition such as a condition for stopping a reel by a controller, each H-arm (3, 7) in each H-bridge (1, 2) is turned on. When stopping a stepping motor (5) by connecting both ends of a two-phase winding (10) to a power supply potential, the two-phase winding (10) is once excited after the occurrence of the reel stop condition, and then, each H-arm (3, 7) is turned on after the elapse of time preset in the controller (20) as a parameter.
